Bluebird Construction started off as Bluebird Transport in the early 1970s as a taxi service company, run by the founder Herman Westerlund. From a handful of taxis, it grew to include buses and eventually trucks and heavy equipment and officially opened its Construction Operations in 1977 and began taking on government contracts. Once Herman Westerlund retired at the age of 50, Henry Westerlund took over as the Managing Director and has been at the helm ever since.
Today we specialise in Large Scale Earthworks, Road Construction, Road Maintenance, Drainage Works, Construction of River and Coastal Rockwall Protection, Site and Building Civil Works and Construction Penstocks and Potable Water Pipelines. We run and operate one of Samoa’s largest quarries and crushing plants.
